Black Chokeberry
Aronia melanocarpa
Black chokeberry is a showy native shrub with beautiful white flowers in spring, and vibrant red leaves and dark edible fruit in fall. Its berries are favored by ruffed grouse and other birds. Black chokeberry is often used in juices, jams, and jellies. It can be easily propagated by rooting cuttings and prefers moist soil.
